The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, which means to join or to yoke. Yesterday morning (Oct. 18th) at 9am many yoga practitioners from Shreveport-Bossier did just that and came together for 108 in the 318, put on by Explore Yoga.
The event welcomed in the fall season with 108 Sun Salutation A’s, and the weather couldn’t have been more beautiful. The number 108 is an auspicious and sacred numeral; there are 108 beads on a rosary and mala. If you’re interested in reading more about the number 108, CLICK HERE.
We were flattered that Explore Yoga reached out and asked us to team up on an event that brought our vibrant yoga community together in one place. A huge THANK YOU to Adrienne Davis, owner of Explore Yoga, for making this happen!
As human beings, we thrive on community interaction and yearn to belong to something incredible. In its most basic definition, a community is a group of people interacting in the same location. It also can mean a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests and goals. A great example of community is people taking a yoga class together.
Our mission at Aspire Yoga Center is to expand and enhance the yoga community in northwest Louisiana, one person at a time. As a studio, we aspire to foster a sense of unity among our incredible community of yoga practitioners whenever and however possible.
