What are the 8 Limbs of Yoga?
The 8 Limbs encompass the principles and practices of yoga as outlined in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. 🕉️ They include:
1. Yamas (ethical guidelines)
2. Niyamas (personal disciplines)
3. Asana (physical postures)
4. Pranayama (breath control)
5. Pratyahara (withdrawal of senses)
6. Dharana (concentration)
7. Dhyana (meditation)
8. Samadhi (enlightenment)

Aspire Yoga Center owner and founder of Aspire Yoga School, Heather Delia has experienced tremendous benefits from yoga — physically, mentally and spiritually — since her first Sun Salutation in September 2001. She has a deep desire to help others experience their own benefits from yoga and is excited to spread her knowledge and passion for the practice with students.
Heather is an experienced 500-hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance. She completed her first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program in 2013, giving her an even deeper appreciation and understanding of yoga. In 2015-16, she completed three separate immersive teacher trainings with Live Love Teach and Free Life People schools of yoga to successfully fulfill the requirements for a 500-hr advanced yoga teacher certification. Heather has taught more than 2,500 hours of yoga since becoming a yoga teacher.
A graduate of the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in Leisure Studies with an emphasis in Sport Management, Heather has also taught group fitness classes for years and is a personal trainer certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
